UPDATE: The Chief Science Officers program will launch in September 2020. Advisers are asked to attend the spring cabinet meeting March 26, 2020.
The ENGINE of Central PA STEM Ecosystem is recruiting Chief Science Officers (CSO) from the public school districts in Central Intermediate Unit 10’s footprint.

Each district will select two CSOs, one at the middle school level, one at the high school. The CSOs will be trained at a fall leadership retreat Nov. 25 and 26, 2019 at Discovery Space State College. The school-selected adviser will also attend the leadership retreat.
Once trained, the CSOs will work to enrich school STEM culture and career awareness. The CSO program gives students a voice in the STEM conversation.
CSO schools receive:
- Two day training for two CSOs and a faculty adviser
- A $250 adviser stipend
- Polo shirts for CSOs and advisers
- Support and mentoring from CIU 10
- Access to a community of CSOs
- A spring celebration
- Action plan templates and assistance

This amazing opportunity is sponsored by AAUW and SIEMENS. The only costs incurred by districts are transportation and any required class coverages.
